Goose Island Brewery – October Brewery of the Month

Goose-Island-Oktoberfest

When Goose Island founder John Hall took a tour across Europe, he savored the styles and selections of brews in every region and thought to himself, “America deserves some damn fine beer like this, too.” So he began his craft beer in Chicago.

Goose Island Brewery uses 32 fermenters, over 15 different yeasts, and stores their brew at a crisp 38 degrees until shipping. In 1992, Goose Island introduced bourbon-aged beer.

At our New Smyrna Beach location, we have Goose Island Oktoberfest on draft with notes of toffee and burnt sugar in the aroma and flavors of sweet dried apricots delivered in a dry malty body with the mild earthy bitterness.

In bottles at the New Smyrna Beach location, we are offering 312 Urban Wheat Ale, Honkers ale and Rambler IPA.

312 Urban Wheat Ale’s spicy aroma of Cascade hops is followed by a crisp, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body that’s immensely refreshing, pairing with salads and fish. Honker’s Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer that pairs well with burger, fish, and chips. Also try Rambler IPA – an herbal, woody, and citrus aroma with spicy, resinous hop flavors.

At our Deland location, we have Oktoberfest, 312 Urban Wheat Ale, and Pepe Nero in bottles.

Pepe Nero is a farmhouse ale brewed with black peppercorns, a roasty sweetness that melds into a lingering, earthy, black pepper finish and is ideal for pairing with grilled meats and roasted vegetables.

As for drafts at our Deland location, enjoy Summer Ale – a light-bodied session ale with fresh orange aroma is crisp, easy drinking and endlessly refreshing that pairs with BBQ flavors – or IPA – a a hop lover’s dream with a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, and long hop finish that pairs well with chicken and pork.
