July’s Brewery of the Month – New Belgium

New Belgium Brewing Company is a craft brewery located in Fort Collins, Colorado. It began in Belgium in 1989 with a 32-year-old boy on his bike. Riding his mountain bike with “fat tires” through European villages famous for beer, New Belgium Brewing Company was but a glimmer in his eye. Or basement. For Jeff Lebesch would return to Fort Collins with an imagination full of recipes and a handful of ingredients ready to embark on a whole new journey. Owners Jeff Lebesch and Kim Jordan opened New Belgium Brewing Company in 1991. A brown dubbel with earthy undertones named Abbey and a well-balanced amber named Fat Tire were the company’s first beers.

The brewery makes nine year-round beers and various seasonal and limited-edition beers. As of 2012, it was the third-largest craft brewery in the country and eighth-largest overall brewery in the United States. The brewery emphasizes eco-friendly practices and employee ownership in its marketing materials.

Each Tuesday through the month of July, get 25% OFF New Belgium beer at both of our Half Wall locations in Deland and New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
