May Brewery of the Month – Rogue Beer
May Brewery of the Month – Rogue Beer
Shortly after starting in a basement in Ashland, Oregon, the Rogue Brewery and Pub opened in October 1988 with the brewery housed beneath a 60 seat Pub. The first beers brewed were American Amber and Oregon Golden.
Rogue founders believe in the rules of the “Rogue Way†– it requires working with the best, whether it’s hops, malts, yeast, water, or people.
Included in this month’s selections at both our Deland and New Smyrna Beach locations will be:
Rogue’s New Crustacean Barleywineish Imperial IPA Sorta – Not quite a barley wine and not quite a double or imperial IPA. Pairing best with seafood, we recommend our mahi or fried fish sandwiches, mussels in beer, boom-boom shrimp or seared ahi tuna.
Rogue’s Mocha Porter – Ruddy brown in color, a bittersweet balance of malt and hops with a light cream finish. This pairs best with beef or dessert – so we suggest our mushroom burger, roast beef sandwich, Philly cheese steak sandwich, or cheesecake.
Rogue Farms 7 Hop IPA – Brewed with 7 varieties of aroma hops at Rogue Farms in Independence, OR, this bodes best with beef or spicy food – perhaps hot wings, a jalapeno burger, or a buffalo chicken sandwich.
