5 Best Wine Pairings With Burgers

Burgers and beer seem to go hand in hand, but when it comes to pairing burgers with wine, the choices can be a little daunting. Here at The Half Wall, we offer a great selection of burgers. Here are some recommendations:

1. With our Bacon Cheese Burger, we offer a choice of Cheddar, Provolone, Swiss, Gorgonzola, or Gouda cheese, topped with lettuce, tomato, and onion. We recommend pairing it with a Pinot Noir that boasts a meaty aroma complimented by dark cherry to enhance the crispy bacon flavor.

2. Topped with fresh jalapenos with your choice of a cheese (Cheddar, Provolone, Swiss, Gorgonzola, Gouda) and garnished with lettuce, tomato, and onion, our Jalapeno burger goes well with Syrah. Its notes of oak and caramel blend nicely with the spicy jalapenos. Syrah also pairs well with our Chili Burger.

3. Going light? We recommend our Avocado Burger garnished with avocado, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Chardonnay works well with this combination, with the acidity cutting through the beef’s fat.

4. Our very popular Peanut Butter Bacon Burger lives up to its name! Topped with peanut butter and bacon, this pairs best with Pinot Grigio for its citrus and fruity hints of flavor.

5. Sparkling wine is recommended with our Fried Pickle Burger. Its effervescence and acidity cleanses and refreshes the palate and offers a sweet peach and apple flavor to the fried and salt flavors.
