7 of the Wackiest Pub Crawls You’ve Ever Seen
All you beer lovers out there are surely familiar with a good ol’ pub crawl, where you can get together with other beer lovers, enjoy a few free drinks, and wander the streets intoxicated and dressed in a Batman suit. It’s also a great way to get to know the best drink spots in your city. From silent discos to snuggie parties, here’s our definitive list of the wackiest, quirkiest, and downright scariest pub crawls in the world.
1. The Monopoly Pub Crawl (London, UK)
Surely one of the strangest (and longest) pub crawls to date, The Monopoly Pub Crawl takes you across all 26 London streets and stations and takes all day to complete. Based on the actual game, crawlers attempt to go in ‘board order’- from 11am to 11pm. It’s suggested you only drink half a pint at each if you want to make it to the end. Costumes vary and are highly encouraged.
2. Snuggie Pub Crawl (Various Cities)
Who doesn’t want to enjoy a beer in total and complete comfort? If you ever feel like going out but don’t want to take your pajamas off now is your time to shine! The Snuggies Pub Crawl has spread like wildfire to cities across the globe. You can even organize one in your very own city! Don’t forget, it’s BYOS (bring your own snuggie).
3. Pug Crawl (Portland, OR)
The 16th annual Pug Crawl is just around the corner! Complete with a Parade of Pugs costume contest, pug-related merchandise, and treats for humans and pups, it’s a pug-athon you won’t want to miss. All purchases benefit the Oregon Humane Society. This year’s theme is Star Wars: The Pug Awakens!
4. Seven-Legged Bar Crawl (Nottingham, UK)
Bring along your very best friends because you’ll be stuck together for a while…literally. At this infamous Nottingham extravaganza held every October, students from Nottingham University come together to celebrate this 100 year old tradition. Once a year, class is canceled for frivolous fun. Teams of six (in matching costumes) are tied together while the seventh dashes to the next bar. The best part is it’s for charity!
5. Silent Disco Pub Crawl (Various Cities)
Jam out to your own tune at a Silent Disco pub crawl in your town. Bring your own headset and your favorite playlist so you can turn up and get down! While you’re jamming out to your favorite hip hop artist your friend could be blasting rock and roll, making for some pretty wild dance moves.
6. Backpacker pub crawl (Dublin, Ireland)
Bar crawls can be a great way to get to know a city you’ve never been to. That’s why a group of globetrotters started the Backpacker Pub Crawl in 2001, determined to get to know Dublin beyond the tourist traps and to connect with fellow travelers. The crawl has since spread across Europe to Berlin, Prague, Budapest, and more. Enjoy free Guinness, shots, discounts, and club entry at one of the biggest and most popular pub crawls in the world.
7. Tubing Pub Crawl (Vang Vieng, Laos)
Perhaps the most dangerous on our list, the tubing pub crawl takes you to the Mekong River for fun times, roaring waters, and alcohol-induced chaos (but in a good way). Bars line the riverbanks to keep participants off their feet and on their tubes. Rope swings, keg stands and more make for a wild time as the river provides refreshment from the blazing sun.As We suggest only good swimmers take a dip into this exciting yet dangerous alcohol adventure.
